Every series-built car has adjustments and innovations during the production period. The Austin Healey 100 is no exception. The use of a four-speed gearbox with overdrive in the BN2 was the most significant change compared to its predecessor. In addition, the wheel recesses were larger and the BN2 could be ordered in a familiar two-tone color combination.
The Austin Healey 100 BN2 with chassis number 228283 left the factory in 1956. Driving the car is a bit more comfortable than the predecessor, without losing the sporty character. The differences between the BN1 and BN2 are barely visible. Only the different-looking overdrive button on the dashboard reveals that this is the evolved gearbox.
